This has always stuck in my mind, for better or for worst. When you read it you will understand why.
A bloke I knew had bought a house and was doing renovations. I called in one day and he was sanding the wooden floor with an electric sander IN THE NUDE, apart from a face mask. I was a little surprised and when he stopped when he saw me I naturally enough asked him what he was doing. "Sanding the floor" came the reply. I told him that I was aware of this and asked him about the nude bit. He explained that sanding raised a lot of dust, (I said that I was aware of this,) and that when he put his clothes in the washing machine after sanding the floor the dust in the clothes clogged the filter so this was his solution to the problem. All he had to do was shower. A perfectly sensible and practical solution you will undoubtedly say. Anyway he finished doing up the house and sold it and moved on... but that memory lingers every time I see the house or see a sander in the DIY department. Why do I think this, it’s because disposable decorating overalls that cover you from head to toe cost £1.50. In fact I even saw some in a pound shop the other month

He was (is?) single and has moved on. When I came home that evening the wife asked me "Anything interesting happen today?", I didn't know what to say.

spool forward a year or two, I decided as I was passing to pop in to say hello as I hadn't seen him for a while.........yep, on a Sunday.........completely forgot about the Sunday arrangements. I was greeted by the sight of him naked apart from a pair of wellies...........still mentally scarred many many years later

 Everyone up here in Sconny Botland is totally sane and "normal". Therefore the natives find it hard to believe how peeps from other nations behave
