Sounds like you guys should approach Patriot or Hannibal and see if they will give you a discount for a certain number of orders, and then pull together a group buy.

I've been thinking about getting a rack and Patriott was my first choice, but then I stopped and thought isn't this a bit ott for what I NEED rather than what I want.
years gone by a cheaper option simply wouldn't have been an option but now..... anyway this doesnt' help you much but what do you think about the front runner racks? quite a bit cheaper and still seem v good? |

I am looking at two complete solutions, these being simple and light and then full monty / heavy duty.
The simple solution is for when it is just me and SWMBO fancying a cheeky children free weekend away; for this I am looking at 3 Rhinorack roof bars from Brendan to mount the roof tent. The full monty / heavy duty option is for extended overland trips into Europe and family trips across the UK. For this, I want to sleep 6 in comfort as well as provide decent cover from the elements as basic living space. I therefore need to have a large chunk of kit carrying capability as well as having mounting points full length down each side of the truck with the ability to get the spare up and out of the way The shopping list for the latter option is looking something like this: * Hannibal 1.6m deluxe tourer kit * 2.8m Patriot DC rack * Patriot wheel mount for rack * Patriot Tilt Security (love the look of my non wendy house black tilt, don't want a tin back) Undecided options: * Hannibal / Oztent awning * Side pannels & ground sheet If anyone has practical experience of the above I would appreciate views, opinions and or pics. With all of this kit having a good reputation for build quality and reliability I am not precious about it being shiny and new either...... Last edited by TC on 6th Jan 2011 9:21pm. From a reputable source- don't bother with the Patriot spot mounts. Apparently they are really expensive for what is basically a piece of angle alloy Glyn |

My patriot roof tent bars are pretty loose where the legs slot into the bars, I think I damaged them chasing NoDo$h down the autobahn at 90mph with the tent on, thought at the time I should have put it away. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.
