Adding Supplementary Tow Socket ?
Is the wiring already in place ? Is there a LR kit to add a second socket ?

On my D3 there was dual sockets as standard so i could plug in my charger using the second socket to trickle charge overnight. Want to be able to do the same

Very Happy There is a landrover kit to fit the 12 s socket that is specific to puma model.
I did intend to fit it myself but was told that at least part of the loom has to be run through to the front of the vehicle ( unlike the 12N which simply plugs into a socket under the rear offside wheelarch).
I the end decided not to risk the warranty by fouling the job up and had the dealer do it .

Yep,

There is a specific LR 12S kit for the Puma

I have mine already installed. Dont remember the part No but I will check. Really is not too dificult to install but for the same reason of Landyman1 I request to the Dealers to do the job.

Cheers Eduardo

AS Landyman1 says, there is indeed a kit for this. It is much more involved than fitting the standard 12N socket kit (which is a simple plug-in), due to the need for an ignition controlled connection. There is wiring to be run up to the dash to provide this connection.

Kits do seem to come up on eBay quite regularly at fairly modest prices (far less than dealer prices) and fitting is not difficult, only a little time-consuming, if you are reasonably handy with vehicle wiring.

I bought the Land Rover kit, and although expensive, it was simplicity to install. There are connecters already fitted on the Defender, so it’s just a case of plugging things in blind. The only time consuming part is running a wire up to the battery box for the 12S relay. This is operated by a wire that is run to the back of the switches by the radio. Bit fiddly but the instructions cover it well. Shame that this wasn’t already provided in the same way that the captive nuts were for the mechanical parts.

BTW, the indicator on the dashboard now flashes when the indicators are on, reminding me that I have a 8 metre caravan following me!
