Wales 2007 Defender 90 Other CSW Trident Green
I always buy either Western Digital or Seagate drives both Brand Leaders in fact they are made by the same manufacturer perhaps a little more expensive than the other brands but you get what you pay for and that’s quality and reliability. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Hello

Simple NAS storage with WD drives.

Network attached storage, means all our files, music, films can be shared by anyone on our home network. Great for backing up photos etc and the added safety as Raid (copies on 2 drives)

The NAS drive you can get for around £50 and then choose 2 drives up to I think with mine 6TB

Once full you can always take them out and add two new ones.

Depending what you want to back up or how long the drive will be on / how quite you want them you can go WD red, green, black your best looking on the WD site for your use.

+1 For the Synology and WD (red) drives. All my windows devices automatically back up to it, (using windows file history), and the NAS can be set up to be accessed anywhere in the world via the web.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, some old computer components laying around, and don't mind loosing a fair amount of hair, have a look at freeNAS.

Cheers,

Tim

5 bay synology NAS mirrored to back up NAS

Don't forget to cost a UPS - NAS don't like sudden power loss

It's your data .. Only you know it's value
