2001 Epsom Green CSW
Bought this a few weeks ago, needs a bit of TLC and sorting out but it is amazing condition for a 14 year old Defender.

It has already undergone a transformation (see my gallery)

replaced the checker plate (in the process of, you might be able to see I haven't finished the passenger wing top - hopefully this morning)

It is a great colour.

The reason I ask is that I'm looking to replace mine and swap mine from silver to black but I'm worried about fixing it. Did the old holes line up for the rivets or was it a case of drilling new holes? I'm not adverse to drilling holes but the last thing I want is problems with holes partially matching up. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)

got the 3mm ones from Paddocks, they were £105 all in including delivery for wing tops and sills. They come with back bolts and nylock nuts. All holes lined up as the old plate except the front too, I had to drill them out a bit.

They have transformed the look. (Finally managed to complete both sides)

I've got it just how I want it and it is now going up for sale as I have an opportunity to buy a brand new 110 Utility through my company and I need to sell this to assist with the funding! That's life!

The old girl passed her MoT today, feel guilty about getting rid of her now! Younger model arriving tomorrow! Another shot of the new front end

Food for thought for me there ..... I've a 90 CSW in Epsom Green and I fancied either toning down, or removing, the wingtop checker plate.....

It looks great now in my humble opinion, if you just remove you will have some horrible holes and probably some faded paint

How easy are the original fit ones to take off ? Just the screws or do they have some sort of sealant under them ?
