I use millers diesel treatment, it increases the cetane rating, its quieter, smoother and a bit nippier
but its more than £2.50 a bottle Why do I use it......dunno really, I started because I wanted to combat the effects of cheapo supermarket diesel (see my other post, on second thoughts dont cos thats a massive can of worms) Anyway I think it works 2003 Td5 90 2013 sport hse 2012 700 raptor quad 2012 siromer 4x4 tractor |

Tried millers , well tried most makes i guess and never really noticed a difference , some used to make the old diesels maybe smell bit better but that was about it

I used to use Redex in my motorbikes thru the freezing weather, got rid of the moisture in the fuel and stopped the engine stalling every time you pulled the clutch in,that isn't something you "imagine". Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Injector cleaner does work if our injectors are getting dirty, I have an old MK4 Hilus it reached a point it was only pulling 54mph up Glyn Neath bank (steep long run) put Millers in and the truck was back to 64mph
No placebo as i drive the road every day in either my landy or the Hilux and know exactly what the vehicles can do. I normally only ever use Forte but tried Millers recently and was happy that it recovered the Hilux performance (if you can call the Mk4 Hilux as having performance) |

For those who prefer 2-stroke, how much do you add to a freshly filled tank
Cheers |

+ 1 for Millers. Again it appears to have done no harm and IF it does part of what is says on the bottle it'll be doing some good!
If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

+2 for Millers Ecomax.
I bought a 5L can ages ago from Opie oils, use it in both vehicles every fill up. It only needs about 50/60ml per full tank so it'll last around 90/100 fill ups. Seems to give better mpg than before. Redex is old school now. |

No point putting 2t in white diesel it has all the lubrication needed for the engine, 2t will not clean your injectors. If you were running veg oil or other kerosene then I would add 2t |

extra lubrication cant be a bad thing
also smoother, quieter running , less black smoke , better emissions |

Diesel engines get lubrication from the engine oil and the fuel, jets are so fine on modern engines why would you want to put additional substances through them when you want maximum performace/economy
2t petrol engines need it for lubrication, 4 stroke engines dont - I have had motor bikes for 30yesrs and I would not dream of additing 2t to my 4 stroke - i want max perfance without affecting the spark As noted only if your not using pure diesel would you need lubrication, and I would not run veg oil etc through modern engine - yet my 15yr old Hilux runs on anythiing - as the injectors can cope with it, Veg oil in this weather will clog up so an inline fuel heater is needed and then I would use 2t Sorry to waffle on - but injector cleaner will keep your injectors clear and I have found it to work, when I change the oil filter on my Hilux I normally fill the filler with Forte "injector cleaner" and run the engine at tick over for a few minutes until the forte has been used up, it does run nice after having such love But we do all have our own opinions crack on |

don't know of many diesel injectors and diesel high pressure pump that get lube from the engine oil
and there about the most expensive thing on the engine to replace , so adding extra lube to diesel like I said cant be a bad thing petrol engine fuel inject pressure 60 ish psi diesel engine fuel inject pressure 25,000 ish psi , so much tighter tolerances and much more load on the pumps and injectors and there is prenty of people on here use it , all with good results |

No Prob I will how ever stick to additives that are tested - 2 stroke oil has no such testing
Should I add 2 Stroke Oil to my diesel to improve its lubricity? in short, you shouldn't. 2 Stroke Oil is designed for 2 stroke motorcycle engines, not 4 stroke vehicles. Vehicle manufacturers and fuel refining companies all agree that running 2 Stroke Oil in fuel is likely to cause complications and there have been reports of engine failures due to 2 Stroke Oil sludging up valves and injectors. As fuel refineries have produced lower sulphur diesel, so too have they added lubrication substitutes to the new diesels to the point that lubrication is now even higher than that of high sulphur diesel. The vehicle manufacturers don't recommend putting 2 Stroke Oil in your diesel... The fuel companies don't recommend putting 2 Stroke Oil in your diesel... The 2 Stroke Oil manufacturers don't recommend putting 2 Stroke Oil in your diesel, therefore logic dictates that there is no reason to put 2 Stroke Oil in your diesel! Better lubricity, cleaner burning fuel, cleaner oil and cleaner air means there is no reason for any vehicle to add 2 Stroke Oil to aid in lubrication. |
