Scotland 2001 Defender 90 Td5 SW Epsom Green
key fob immobiliser
My 2001 td5 immobiliser button / system seems to be playing up, where in the past the indicators would flash when the button was pressed today all I got was some rapid flashing of the red charging?lamp.
Can someone tell me what's going on and how to resolve it.

I had thought the key fob battery might be on the way out but it seemed to set the alarm no problem.
Thanks DRW I built a garage for my Mini
With a place for everything and everthing in its place.
Ten years down the line there's a Mini in there somewhere, and Censored all's where it should be!!!! Ho hum

Mine is doing this as well, so if I just replace the battery I don't reset anything with Imob is that correct?

Oh and fantastic website here. Great information on the TD5 etc.

hi all, thread revival....

battery change on a TD5 key fob and now the fob won't work at all, putting the old battery in doesn't help so it's not the battery, must be that it needs resetting or something.

I was hoping to read what Dorset had posted but the photos dont come up any more.

Could anyone advise what to do to reset it and make the fob come alive again?

Thanks. Thumbs Up

With new battery in your key fob you need to resync it if will not lock or unlock

Standing near the vehicle, keep pressing the lock button until the indicators flash, then press the unlock button once.
