Can anyone find out their own individual defender build date etc? Is that possible?

From the VIN/reg the Microcat parts catalogue will tell you the build date (and full spec).

Can you not just go find a part "eg Clutch Master Cylinder" look at the VIN range for that part to work out the last TD5?

Then count yours back from that?

I think (but only done a very quick google)

That Pumas started at 732615.

So look at the chassis number on yours, subtract the last 6 digits from the above and it may give you a clue how far off the last TD5 yours was.*

*could be completely wrong.... also

If that's the case then I've got the last ever defender td5!!!!! Only joking. It's not far off though! I've just taken a load of fresh photos after giving her a bath

Another couple of things, as per the photos the rear has carpeted fitted side panels. The spare wheel is the factory original wheel and tyre and has never touched the road. I have replaced the clock with a boost pressure gauge just to keep an eye on things. But nothing has been cut or chopped up. And the clock can be reinstated in less than 10 minutes.

Very tidy looking in the pics .......... I'm watching with interest to see who bites at what looks like ambitious pricing for a seven year old Defender?

Maybe it is..... Maybe it isn't. Find another one to compare against? Someone I know just paid nearly £17000 for a 57 puma with 60k miles on. And that was deemed completely normal. So why would my immaculate td5 of the same year with less than half the miles not be worth at least the same? It's a tricky one to price but I'm not letting it go for average money because there aren't more than a handful of these left in this condition

@Neil: Exactly right. That is a rare vehicle, hence it commands a high price. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a bidding war break out over this if you got it in front of the right people.

@Cuthbert: That's not really a helpful comment on someone's 'for sale' thread. You might want to check the rules for posting in this section, which include the following:

I don't find it insulting to be honest it's a fair comment. But my argument stands that it's totally worth what I'm asking to the right person. I've already had a lot of interest just through here and I haven't even considered using eBay or pistonheads etc. I've looked for other late defenders and they are around but I can't find more than a few with this amount of miles. And the ones I have found are priced the same. I have had a lot of cars over the years and I don't buy rubbish. This is by far the nicest used defender I've ever seen. No bodges or rust or nasty bloody chequer plate. It's even pretty much dent free. And for a defender that is rare. As a lot of them come out of the showroom with dents!
