I've just spoke to land rover heritage at Gaydon and they're sending me the build details for my landy. So I will be able to work out how far from the end of production it was built.

Mines not a TD5 but a 57 Puma and on only 39k miles. Thumbs Up
Very nice though that is, price seems about right to me.

Thumbs Up

I know it's priced at the top end but I don't think there's many like mine to compare against. A friend has not long bought a 57 plate tdci with 60 ish k miles and paid near what I'm after

The 2.4's will be like that too in the future, rarity sells.

I think this one I have deserves to go to a real enthusiast. It's not just a landy that can be used and not recognised for what it is

Rolling with laughter Whistle Rolling with laughter

It already has the greatest enthusiast as it's current owner. Why not just bin the RRS idea and just keep it? You'll miss it anyway and never get another TD5 like it. Life is full of regret and mark my words if you do sell it you can chalk this up as one of yours......regrets that is!

Idea If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

I bought it as I wanted the best td5 I could get for my money and I literally came across this by pure chance and bought it without really realising what it was. Being a very late and low miles td5 in immaculate condition and in a great colour. I hoped to just relax with it and use it every day. We have 2 cars which we have always shared but my wife point blank refuses to drive it as she says "it's like driving a truck"? It is a truck? So it puts me in a bit of a bind because we no longer have 2 cars because we can never switch if required. And I have to take into consideration if the other car had a major breakdown and was off the road for say a few weeks it would be a bigger pain in the arse than usual!
The other reason is. Without thinking about the implications of buying a low mileage sought after vehicle I went ahead and did it. I am now forever watching the mileage and seeing it's main appeal disappearing as I put miles on her.
And I thought owning a defender it wouldn't matter if it got the odd ding on it because of what it is. But this one is pretty much flawless so I find myself parking miles away from anyone else so they don't open their door on my....... Side steps???? It's ridiculous. A rrs has always been very high on my list and I'm lucky enough that where I work I get pretty much free fuel every week. So I can effectively afford to run a 15mpg supercharged rrs for not a great deal. I should of just bought a cheaper more run of the mill defender but this is verging on collectors material.

I've just had an email from the motor heritage centre I'm Gaydon. They have found out that my defender was built on the 21st of December 2006. So less than two weeks away from actually becoming a 2007 built td5. This must be one of the last few defenders built with the td5 running gear surely????
