Dare I ask which dealers you refer to....i wonder if it's been Caterham'd by the same dealers.

New turbo fixed my kangaroo 'ing........

Just wondering.......do you suspect your clutch could be excessively stiff?
As daft as it sounds some lube on mine seemed to help no end - and not necessarily with the stiffness Shocked

Timbar, the death rattle I think Blackwolf is talking about is a definite, unmistakable rattle. I have had this rattle, it's from broken springs in the clutch assembly. I believe the clutch has been upgraded somehow and no longer suffer from breaking springs.
In your youtube clip, what I could hear is normal engine noise pending clutch in or out. Mine does this as well but it's not the dying clutch rattle.

That actually sounds fairly normal to me, it isn't the clutch death rattle.

The best test for the death rattle is to shut off the engine with the clutch in, when the rattle will be unmistakable.

This pogoing that you can't get out of without dipping the clutch is very similar to what happens when you bypass the clutch switch to get rid of the rev hold. Is this working properly, ie do the revs hold when you change up. If they don't and drop straight back down I'd suggest the clutch switch is knackered and a new one will fix it.... It is a plug located on the top of the clutch hydraulic reservoir. You can shot it out to get rifd of the rev hold but then it Kangeroos and shunts...

Have a look at it and see what it is doing, with a multimeter clutch depressed should give a made contact clutch out ie driving should be open contact...

Hope it helps, at least worth checking...

I've had vibration/knocking/play in the driveline and has taken 18 months and 5 seperate trips to finally sort. Hopefully fully rectified when the car comes back tomorrow and done so by taking to a different dealer with a fresh pair of eyes.

Originally loose propshaft bolts. Now found worn drive flanges and wear to parts in the transfer box

The first dealer who had it on 4 seperate occasions were never really that interested in looking for a problem but thankfully Sturgess Leicester took only an hour to have a proper look and find the issue.

Good luck and change dealers if in doubt

Clutch seems fine and not stiff.

The dealer is Guy Salmon, Knutsford.

The rev' hold is working correctly.

I took the comments off here to the dealer today, but nowt's been done on the drive line issues as Land Rover have not changed their mind on it being "satisfactory".

Looks like I may have to change dealers (from Guy Salmon Knutsford), followed by manufacturer!

And I haven't mentioned the other faults, such as the three visits to fix the heater to stop it bleeding past the lower vents when its on screen. It's now almost correct, but on full cold it now blows luke warm, followed by all the sealer that's on the door frames from when they resealed the windscreen, and they still haven't removed it all!

Just a thought, have you/they change the throttle pedal potentiometer..? On my TD5 I get a slight pogo effect at low speeds in 2nd/3rd gear and it seems to be a combination of a dead spot on the potentiometer causing the car to slow, which in turn causes my foot to press a little harder on the pedal going past the dead spot but giving it a bit more throttle.

Not sure if that's clear..!

Although I have no evidence either way to suggest what they have or haven't checked, recent pm's and emails to Mike in LR's customer services and the service manager at Guy Salmon Knutsford gives me the feeling that the basic stuff such as the tightness of bolts, the condition of engine and gearbox mountings, and that sort of thing, may not have been checked, so I doubt the throttle has been looked at. I don't know either way on these checks, but I asked last night via an email to the dealer what had been checked since this was first brought up at the service last September. However, all I got back was that the technician went through in detail what had been done yesterday. This "detail" concerned work done during this last visit, which didn't including anything on the pogoing issue.

Both myself and LRCS are waiting for a reply on what has or hasn't been checked from the dealer.

Regarding the Stockport branch, that's even further away.

Please let me know how you get on with yours. It may be that Sturgess get my business if they are successful, and I'll save around 30 miles per round trip.

To date I've done over 700 miles to the dealer on this issue (with a few others at the same time) going to and from Guy Salmon Knutsford.

I should get the car back tomorrow now. There was a delay with a seized bolt and them needing an engineer visit the dealer and resolve. I've no idea who this engineer is or why one is needed but hopefully the car will come back feeling better.

Thanks for letting me know.

I've just been on to LRCS again, and the next option will be to take it to another dealer.

Which one in Leicester did you take it too? There seems to be serveral in that area.

On the plus side, going to Leicester will save me 40 miles per round trip.
