Wolfs are actually 6.5 inches wide, and I think the maximum recommended width is 255, although some will debate that 265s are fine on it.
I have Wolfs on 235 85s, which is possibly the most common size in this day and age. You won't notice much of a difference, 235s are I think taller, (assuming they are;) meaning acceleration will be slightly slower, but top speed slightly increased. But it's all so marginal. Turning circle will also be a bit worse, but who cares?! 1998 110 300Tdi White Hard Top |

Hi Interlet,
Thanks for your response. It does however raise another question for me. If the wolf rims are 6.5" wide and it's usual to fit Michelin 7.50r16 XZL's then can you also fit cross latitudes in the same size? There was another thread recently about fitting cross latitudes on boost rims and the reply was you couldn't. I assume that's because boost alloys are 7"? Assuming that you can run 7.50r16's on either 5.5" or 6.5" then why would you or LR choose one or the other? Mark |
