Heater Air Intake
I've noticed that very little air enters the heater naturally and that I have to have the motor running most of the time for any effective ventilation.

Has anybody tried any of the "stick up" air intake modifications available or the (expensive!) KBX type? As well as forcing air in when moving perhaps they'll also keep some of the rain out when stationary? Series 2A 88, 1976 - 1980

Have had one on for the past 4 years. Absolutely no problem. Just make sure the heating duct drains are kept clear on a regular basis. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH

Thanks, I know about two drains, are there more?

Did the "scoop" increase air flow? They're not pretty! Series 2A 88, 1976 - 1980

None that I know of. Definitely airflow at speed without fan on, but I tend to run my fan on 1 or 2 constantly anyway. Whistle LANDYWATCH

I went for the bigger metal ones, mostly because you can stand on them

you feel a difference in flow with the fan off for sure, I think the screen clears quicker too Very Happy

I ran the LRX (now KBX) type on my 90 for years and found it a massive improvement, air-flow even without the blower on was very significant.
Last year I removed (and sold) the LRX grills and fitted a snow-cowel. Apart from the issue that when there are strong side-winds the air-flow seems to be significantly reduced, the biggest issue as far as I am concerned is that natural through-flow is now non-existant (to be expected with the design of the intake).
I am now in the situation that I will use the snow-cowel for winter only and purchase a new KBX grill for the remainder of the year. ONE LIFE, GET IT!
