"Willys Wheeler Edition? Really?
Supposedly Jeep is coming out with a limited edition Wrangler that pays homage to the Willys...

I personally don't like the new Jeeps; although well equipped the materials are naff and the whole thing is rather toy-like.

Read the article...

"Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage"

I like it too. If Defenders weren't around a Jeep would possibly be sat on my drive in lieu.

7 slat grille, Recessed headlights, side lights below headlights, simple curved bonnet, Bonnet securing hooks, folding windscreen, rear mounted spare wheel, canvas soft top, all early Willys GP features. I`m sure that there`s more that I have missed! Smile Oh like the willy`s name! Laughing

I've had both, the major problem was the cost of parts in the uk and 14 mpg with a 4.0 litre straight six!

Great vehicle though!

Nothing at all like a willy's

I'm pretty sure I never saw a willy's in metallic grey, with huge gloss black alloys and a roll cage!

Americans miss the point again. Cheers, David

Don`t think the Yanks are missing the point at all! Chrysler sold 141,669 Wranglers in the USA alone last year and the factory struggled to meet demand! Also you can buy a proper offroad Rubicon straight from the factory. Defenders stop selling in the States in 1997 due to issues over safety. Landrover missed an opportunity big time by not upgrading and fitting airbags etc. Of course any Landrover selling in the States carries a hefty price tag and the Americans won`t put up with poor build quality/rust etc the same way we do over here! Much as I like my Defender I would have one of those Willys Jeeps in an instant!. Just need to win the lottery! Then I can have both a Defender and a Wrangler! Laughing
