That means it will be cheaper to tax a vehicle as they won't have the admin and the printing.

I look forward to the reduction in my tax..........oh, I think I'm expecting too much. Evil or Very Mad Craig Rogers

I wonder if it will then become legal (because it isn't at present) to drive around in (say) a 1949 80" Land-Rover with a replica 1949 tax disc on display.

You can already check with DVLA the tax status of any car.

think you have to still tax for 6 months.. but pay for the 6 months on a monthly direct debit
so you cant tax just for 1 month

Going to cost 5% more to pay by direct debit. Wonder what will happen if the banks have a hiccup and your
Ved isn't paid on time?

If it costs more to pay by DD then whats the benefit? That's pointless. If you want to pay monthly then pay yourself every month to a different bank account.

Why guarantee the gov money for no benefit to you? Craig Rogers

Err, as long as you've got a valid current tax disc on display, you can display a 'period' one as well. Nowt illegal about it at all.
