Standard Shape, But Hd Bumper
Hello!

As per above, looking for a standard shape, but HD front bumper.

I contacted Black Sheep Offroad but apparently they are Un-Economical to produce.

Does anybody know of a good supplier that doesn't cost the earth?

My ideal would be the Flatdog DRL version, but minus the DRL's...

Thank you in advance!

What about the military front bumper with the central towing pintle?

or the galvanised bumpers, they are made of much thicker metal then the standard bumper.

Or there is the First Four HD bumper http://www.firstfour.co.uk/item/2171177/de...uty-bumper

I can do an 8 or 10 mm 4 x 4 inch instead of 4 x 3 inch .. Longer mounting brackets so it's away from the bodywork . Looks exactly as Genuine with end caps on . Galvanised .Will send a pic when out of the stealer .

Have decided against the military version because the strongest part is the pintle, but the outer edges are made from the same gauge.

Looking at my 110 she has had previous bumpers knocked into her wings as she still has the dents.

Reason I want it is because on the way home last night I saw a flustered older gentleman in a VW Toureg (with tow ball) try to storm out of a junction but forgot he was in reverse and instead stormed into the very nice jag parked behind, you can imagine the aftermath...

I don't need it as a battering ram, but something to protect against others without looking like a monster truck.

The First Four one looks exactly like it, but the price is a bit steep.

So is their website is out of date?

"Landrover Defender HD front bumper.
Our HD front bumper replaces the standard Tin front bumper. Made from 6mm folded mild steel with or without recovery points.
Supplied £40+VAT
Fitting available"

£40 even plus VAT does sound uneconomical unless you are producing thousands of them!

Going from a email I sent him Sunday he said they are uneconomical to produce. Which again, fair enough at £40 I'd imagine its more hours and material than its worth.

@Kieth Id be very interested to see that, would it be possible for a 6mm version? otherwise I think 8mm would be great! Although with the standard length mounting brackets. Would you consider courier to Kent?

Expensive............. really? £200 for a HD bumper that in one second could save you over hundreds or thousands of pounds of damage especially with winter approaching (apparently we will have snow in October).

I have used FF once before and must say I was more than happy with the product and service.

@Glynparry25 Very true, However compared to £40ish for a Standard one its quite some increase.

Thinking about it, if I decide against Kieth's version then the FF version is looking to be a winner.

Looking forward to the snow though that is very exciting Very Happy

I stopped making the bumpers cos you landy lot are to thrifty!

Id be careful of using thick wall box section without any give points built in as it will be a lot stronger than your chassis, when I made the hd bumpers I made sure there was a weak point to bend before the chassis
