Don't you have 7 days to return it?

The seller says he will take the scangauge back, and issue a refund less 20% , as they will have to resell the unit in the opened packaging Shocked that doesnt sound right to me, I don't want the seller to be out of pocket either but surely they send it back to their supplier to re-package? I would have been happy with max 10% as that seems reasonable enough, but 20%? Evil or Very Mad Optimists say the glass is half full..

Think of it. I ordered a jacket from Adidas. How could I try the jacket on if I left in the plastic package? Didn't fit me, got a refund asap. I didn't have to pay for the shipping costs for sending and returning the jacket.
That's simply the risk of selling stuff through the internet!

Distance selling rules should apply and you should get a full refund. Look up distance selling rules and give them both barrels over the phone!!!

Opening the packaging doesn't mean you can't return the goods.
Page 20 here: http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/distance-...ed_PDF.pdf gives you the info.

You can therefore return the item under the distance selling rules for a full refund Very Happy

If Amazon are on it I think you should be ok as they are well aware of all the selling regs!
