I also get that occasionally, but without the light coming on. I think it's the system being armed ready.
Mine is down to the CVs getting a bit worn. There's a post from a while back where mine was coming on when going around corners and the CV joint whining. The joint was a bit dry, so some oil later and cured it. I think the vibration was enough to cause the TC to think the wheels were too far out of sync. Hi Craig,
Just been trawling other LR forums and found this, http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defen...ise-2.html Someone on here suggested, tapping the sensors home with a small hammer and this cured it, Think I will see how it progresses and if need be have it looked at, as its still under warranty |

Cheers for the link, but them sensors are pretty fragile, not sure I'd start whacking them. Craig Rogers

I assume the sensors work the same as most automotive movement sensors (like the Crank sensor on a Flywheel).
They are magnetic and sense the spinning rate of the "teeth" of whatever is spinning. I supose it's easy to get some dirt in there (or even a small piece of metal) that can throw the readings. I remember back in my Mini racing days when I couldn't get the car to start after we'd changed the clutch in a rush in the paddock. We had slightly bent the sensor putting the clutch assembly back in which meant the firing was out enough not to be able to start the car. Are you sure you're not revving it in 4500 and dumping the clutch? That might make the TC come on

See very last post. Sensors can be easily extracted cleaned and put back in. If you're under warranty and can live with it until they can look at it let them sort it. Mine was undriveable at one stage. You can also get round it by pulling the 30 amp fuse under the driver's seat if it gets too much. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic2394.h...p;start=30 Another thread here when I was 'faffing about' searching for a remedy..... http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic20879.html?highlight=gap If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Thanks for all your help / info If it was out of warranty I would certainly have a look myself, and now I know what to check and look for Cheers Keith |
