New blingy bits for the SVX.
I've just getting the SVX back out of winter storage to potentially enjoy the spring and summer and as a treat I've fitted some more interior shiney bits to match the SVX gear/transfer knobs and the CSK supplied Alive steering wheel boss.

I've always liked the look and feel of the Croytec parts and love the Startec pedals but just a little too pricey, then I noticed this eBay seller

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/ SPAM-SPAM -Custom-Part...7675.l2563

A little sceptical as I've had some poor alloy clock surrounds from different sellers in the past but I ordered some alloy pedal covers, door handles and door locking pegs.

They arrived well packaged in good time and first impressions they are well made and a nice finish, fitting is straight forward the door locking pegs need the panels removing but with some time to avoid breaking the clips and I refitted with the new door handles and some new stainless screws.

The pedal covers are also easy I used some double sided tape on the clutch and brake pedal and the accelerator fastens nicely with 4 hex grub screws.

Overall I'm well pleased with them, the door locking pegs aren't exactly the same profile as the originals but ok and the accelerator pedal is only really for td5 and tdci that wasn't stated on the ad but no probs for me so now I just some alloy stalk ends and some leather FCX goodies to complete the tarts handbag look Rolling with laughter the list goes on Thumbs Up

Pedal covers look smart but I would be concerned about wet boots sliding off them.
Door pulls would causing me some pain in the elbow and it would not be humorous. Big Cry Thinking about some soft ones.

Wet boots aren't allowed in the SVX Rolling with laughter but I can see your point. The smaller steering wheel makes all the difference so I don't tend to bang my elbow on the handles although my knee does tend to rub. Formerly mao99999

I'd be a bit worried about holding the brake pedal with double sided tape... Shocked wouldn't want that coming off when doing an emergency stop. The insurance company might also take that into consideration in the event of an accident.

Just my 2p worth.. Very Happy

Cheers

Simon

To be fair the pedal covers are a snug cup like fit over the pedals and I used some good quality 3m body shop grade double tape so really the covers won't come off. I was going to adhere them using windscreen adhesive but tends to be messy and hard to remove.

If the double sided tape doesn't work, clean surfaces well and use sikaflex. This will bond them well.

Cheers
