you could drill out the pop rivets and re-seal it.
Here's a video of the 'start to finish' job, but the but at the end shows the (re-)fitting. I followed this to the 't' to do mine and it worked well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCYZOe582pg Andy. |

You and me both. Mine leaks from where the upright in the middle of the window is attached, I think it gets through the screw. I have resealed around the outside of the frame and I think that has reduced some of the leaks, 1999 Defender TD5 110

The seal ring in the video was part of the 'deluxe' kit (remembering this was not a genuine LR part!).
I used ordinary bathroom silicone sealant if I remember right (I had a tube in the garage at the time) and it has never leaked! I also found this series of videos of how to replace the actual rubbers in the window! Not sure if this is an original LR part or not (and it's a bit patronising!) Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eCMYe8q_s0 Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N28VXk5JMDM Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4KsGKrcDhA Part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aGUAPodI0U Part 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiJzZanNavo The window kit I used was Britpart (yeah I know) DA4033 and you can buy the seal ring as part DA4032-3SEAL Andy. |
