great mods I was considering the parking sensors in the jacking hole thing do the work OK ? Ive not done much to mine yet the but i have fitted a glove box conversion from Germany that cost £80 which is a bit steep but having fitted it im chuffed to bits and the Mrs keeps here mitts , sweets sunglasses etc in it. I also fancy one of those radios with the screen that comes out for DVDS and has a built in sat nav and will also allow a camera to plug in just got to find one for a sensible price thad does all main functions Radio, CD, DVD, SAT NAV and Camera

Hi Zagato,
Bumperettes were from Paddocks: http://tinyurl.com/3ow7g7p However they need a 10mm spacer to clear the Bolt heads that are part of the rear seat mechanism/seat belt, unless Paddocks have changed the design recently. I did email them with the problem and pictures etc:. However my friendly Indy made up some spacers for me that did the job. Now guarenteed to make mincemeat of anyone who doesn't stop in time. |

Hi Kez,
Nice Defender { Black is Best }. Fitted the reversing kit myself. The kit can work with 2,3 or 4 sensors. I used 2 and inserted them in the Hi-Lift jacking point in the rear crossmember using Ducktape to bulk them up and jammed in position. No holes to drill there. Wires went along back and into the cab via a hole in the rear OS by seat mechanism. Tap into reversing light feed at that point, also brought along rear from reversing light feed, and the control box and buzzer stuck on bare body panel just behind drivers seat. It also has a small LED sensor that I fitted to dash. Wires/plugs etc are of more than sufficient length and are robust. Will try and find the box in the garage and post with make etc: |

Cheers WelshGas, nice jon indeed. If I was to attempt it, it woudl burst into flames on the motorway (that actually happened to a friends car that I fitted a radio too back in the 80's - she was not impressed

Hi Lorryman 100,
Nice piece of kit but I would be too worried about security. |

The sensors with the kit I used, see previous posts, are rubber and designed to be inserted into a hole drilled in a plastic bumper. I just made them bigger by winding duck tape around them, then covering them in waxoyl and pushing into the hi-lift jacking points. Work very well.
If you look very carefully at the photo of the Dragon, 1st post, and if you can zoom in on a photo of the rear view you can just make them out as they are black in colour. LANDYWATCH Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |
