It seems wiper blades are like arseholes, everyones got a different one, but some wipe better than others

Three days in to Silblade ownership and so far I'd say they are no better or worse than my old Bosch ones from new.
I'll get around to switching them on tomorrow ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() Could have sworn there were little ridges on the outside when it rains - must just be bad wiper blades ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I have had a set of Sillblades on for about 2 years now and they seem to be good, but I am not sure they warrant the price tag. When they need replacing I would be tempted to just get some good quality 'normal' wipers.

If you must have silicone wipers the triple-edge ones are much cheaper inc delivery.
Good thing it doesn't rain much here ![]() |

I got the silblades to see if they last longer than regular ones. Regular rubber ones only last a good month or two. They get "baked" to the windshield, and even the Bosch ones start streaking within a couple of weeks, unless you lift them off every time you stop/park (too much hassle).

![]() For a start it has to be a 2-dimensional elephant or it couldn't fit between the layers of glass ![]() But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

I couldn't find anywhere that would supply a set of three Bosch retrofit 'flat' wiper blades for the defender. Fronts yes but the rear 11" proved a problem. I eventually ordered a set of three 'iguana' ones but they have been worse than the worn ones I took off! Seriously considering just taking them off the front and buying pair of Bosch so the next time it rains (!) I don't have a streaky windscreen. Mark S

I would say it was a case of suck it and see. I've had Sillblades fitted to mine for around three years now, and water is still beading nicely where the wipers sweep. On the downside they are becoming less useful when really cold. I'll likely try Bosch next, along with more frequent applications of RainX (which I've not used in over a year), but don't regret the purchase of the Sillblades at all. Peter
