2002 110 td5 strange hiccuping or slight hestigation?
i drove my 110 td5 today, and i was in the mood for some flat out driving.
so i put pedal down on the slip road coming on to the m4 and when the revs got to 2500-3000 it started what seemed to be like gentle slow hiccuping, it only seeems to do it in high revs when accelertating hard and/or foot flat down maintaining mway speeds

any ideas what it might be? its got 155k on the clock.

Ditto the injector harness, take the red plug off the ecu under the drivers seat and check for oil contamination. If oil is present you need a new injector harness (and cam cover gasket) this is an easy diy fix, must be loads of threads on here ref changing it. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Yep.

Get a spray tin of electrical contact cleaner and have a go at the main red ECU plug and the one underneath the sound cover on the engine that connects the injector loom to the main harness.

Its worth factoring in a new injector harness every 60k miles or so. 2002 Defender 110 DC

Yep I looked through the threads

New injector loom ordered along with contact cleaner and a sandwich box to pop the ecu in to waterproof it! god knows when it was last done being 155k! 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

Sorry to hijack but with the looms are you best buying genuine or are the spurious ones of eBay ok?

Keep an eye on the oil level too, if it increases, replace the injector seals and copper washers, using gen lr parts and pray you don't have a cracked head.

Just been thru this with our td5 and there was 5lts of diesel contaminating the oil in the engine block... Big Cry
Seals changed and fingers crossed no harm done

I got it off ebay yes, but it wasnt the cheapest! It had a LR part number on it which was the one I wanted.

Ill see what it looks like when it arrives, if not then Ill stick it back on ebay and get a genuine set from one of the forum sponsors. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

As per Ian's suggestion, sticking wastegate is usually has these symptoms at higher revs

For the over revving. Check you fuel regulator for leaks. In colder weather they can leak more and it can contaminate the clutch causing slip under load. Fix is to replace or re-seal regulator

An alternative to oil in loom issue is to clean ECU connectors and then fill with electrical grease petroleum jelly, then close. You then won't get any oil ingress again.

Cheers
