@tim - love to see a photo in the dark with those babies lit up Thumbs Up

The RI 40" light bar is comprised of 10" flood + 20" spot + 10" flood - so you get quite a good spread of light

Agree 100% with Timo, wide spread of light needed

@ bpman in all honesty you cannot tell it is dark when they are on unless you look up into the sky Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Normally we run 3 x pencil and 2 x drive ovals under the roof rack.

The bumper lights not shown in the pic are a drive beam pattern so agree with the theme of keeping it wide rather than distance!

The roof lights are for special occasions are medium & narrow flood patterns.

Don't need to see it in the dark, you could see it in the day from just about everywhere at the Bristol and West show. Mr. Green
Think it might even make your lighting look a bit dull Bp

Big Cry They made us turn the big lights off at B & W as it was presenting a safety hazzard on the approach roads around the showground

I tried to take a picture of it at B&W but the picture just looks like large orb above the Land Rover. Rolling with laughter

Only if they're not being used in daylight at Land Rover shows to mesmerize potential customers Whistle

Rigid Industries also do coloured covers - blue, yellow etc

Regarding Timos comments I can vouch for the the off-axis coverage in the arctic regions on the Nordkapp run last year.

I did notice that many of the locals favoured 2 or 3 large spots (say 240mm) with light blue lenses. A pencil beam in those conditions is useless in my view.

Also in an off road night drive the off-axis coverage is more important to see the terrain

As the LEDs are low current I found they were useful to flood the camp site in the dark to put the tents up...without flattening the battery or leaving the engine running
