Spain 2001 Defender 90 Td5 SW Epsom Green
Started putting the 90 back together, after it's return from the paint shop, between the monsoons and thunderstorms.

About 80% done and then called it a day when the lightning hit a tree in the field behind us Shocked

Horses were well spooked (so was I !), came into the house and we only had about 30% power as the wonderful electrical distribution system in Somerset kicked the bucket again Big Cry

Back from camping in Bude, Cornwall. Must remember to not camp on an exposed coastal site....40mph + winds meant we had to ratchet strap the tent to the side steps of the defender.

However good news is that Mrs H has ok'd recaro seats as a 3 hr stint in the std ones is tooooo painful.

What I did today
Hi to everyone,

Drove to Leamington Spa to pick up a roof rack found on eBay.
First long trip in the Puma and loved every minute. Thumbs Up

Safe driving

United Kingdom 1999 Defender 110 Td5 SW Caledonian Blue
Spent the day on the chassis of the 110 giving it a good paint and good seeing to.
After a few hours it now looks a lot better, just the section from the front outrigger to the front of the chassis next.

I did have a "Why did I poke that bit of rust moment" In this case, its the bit where the chassis meets the rear x-member. I decided to remove a clump of rust....but this remove section and left a hole Sad 1999 Defender TD5 110

Took the 110 out for it's maiden voyage with all the modifications complete, all good, no leaks, everything working as expected. Met up with BigRuss and MrsBigRuss for a pint in the forest, then took the long road home.

The D2 duallys work great as DRLs too.

Got stuck in crap loads of traffic on the M3 and M27 on my way to the pub to meet Bpman.

Then had a drive round the forest and headed back home. Russell

Well I finished fitting the noise killer to the 90's bonnet it's now so good the Puma is in need of the same treatment. Always unsure how good it was now I can say it is very good. Cow _______________________________

Nobby - did you de-grease the underside of the bonnet? and did it stick quite easily? BM52

With the noise killer stuff what is the outcome of fitting it in the end? Sounds a silly question but I assume it depends where it is fitted. With the Puma I quite like actually hearing the engine well but what I don't like is when you open a window just for some air the wind noise is far far worse and then the engine noise and the wind noise combined is a bit much especially if you are trying to listen to some music Neutral $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Hi BM52, I used an engine degreaser, let it do it's magic for 10 mins and hosed it off. Once it was dry the bonnet was lovely and clean.

Killer90, it seems to have stuck and held everywhere it was supposed to, still I haven't lifted the bonnet this morning? You can see it for yourself soon anyway? Very Happy

Custom90steve, it's on a Land Rover 90 with 200tdi engine and needed it, fitted to the interior cab, engine bonnet and I fitted an engine blanket. Fitted new carpets and to be honest it has made a lot of difference, so much that I'll fit a blanket to the Puma. However I do like the sound the Puma makes as well. Most likely wait until I've had it away to Alive for their magic or not! _______________________________
