I bought a stable mat from Scats but took it back as it was soooo heavy, too thick for my needs and difficult to bend. Machine Mart do matting lighter non smelly matting. It's the standard lining material you see quite often, 6mm I think. All depends how hard the use will be I think.

Bear in mind that the thinner it is the weaker it is though. Mine is thin (not purchased by me) But anyway mine is thin and has ripped on the edge where it is ribbed. Not good! I doubt you can beat the Genuine LR one from Dan but the price is high $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Are the genuine LR ones designed to go between the wheel arches? If so won't they be a bit narrow if OP has levelled the back with a drawer unit?

I got some 3mm rubber from Machine Mart. They have different thicknesses and was the cheapest I could find. 2008 110 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

The LR genuine is indeed designed for between the arches so for this particular use then it would be too narrow like you say sadly. For every one else though including myself it's a perfect solution. Anyone got one? $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Thanks for all your suggestions guys.
I think most of those stable type mats are way too thick and heavy. At 18mm in thickness and around 6ft x 4ft they weigh in at around 40 to 50Kg!!! I have this morning spoken to a car carpet mat manufacturer who given that I need a rectangular mat around 1.5m x 1m can make a custom premium quality mat for £22.50 plus carriage which seems really reasonable. i think that's the way to go for me. Thanks again, Mark |
