Lorryman, don't feel aggrieved, there are always people 'ready to have a poke' or indeed in some cases ready to feed off of other's misfortune in my experience. Your help has always been forthcoming, informative and in my case very useful especially when it came to getting most out of the Scangauge diagnostic tool. I as others, I am sure DO appreciate your help and am grateful for it. That is why I believe both you and Pete were the first recommendations for assistance from Fekete and myself.
Pete too has been of great help and assistance to me in the past with remap issues that were not his origin and he was under no obligation to assist with. The advice was sound and given freely. I thank you both and hope it may continue. 'Thicker skin' Lorryman....I'll do a search and see if I can find a link for one. Best I can do unless you wish to 'grow a thicker beard?' (Joke by the way!) http://ask.metafilter.com/196297/Can-a-hyp...thick-skin If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Brian,
Knowing Dave, I don't think that was a dig aimed at you.... far from it i'd imagine. And I think everyone is grateful for your input. I think Dave's post more refers to the varying experience and skills that other so called specialists actually have..... Or lack of. I admit, MSV is a good tool - I have Rovacom as well - and it does do some stuff that SDD can't... but with regards to calibrations/software it is behind SDD at times... and SDD can actually do a lot more that people realise. I'm on this forum quite often, but I do have to be careful as I'm not a forum sponsor (which I should sort out really) and some people do moan about me posting information. Loryman, i aint got a clue what you are huffing an puffing about, but suggest you grab a big cup of chill!
I hadnt even read the whole post, didnt know you had contributed. I merely said [as Ian is a personal friend] that he is fully skilled in his work, what he doesnt know about tuning isnt worth knowing. [Unlike some so called professionals] If you are that insecure as to take offence to that ... Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

Firstly can I say a huge thank you to Brian (Lorryman) for all of his help, advice, good wishes and a colossal amount of time he took to help me, the only connection I have with him is being a member of the same forum - he is one hell of a top bloke to give that sort of time to a stranger.
Secondly to Pete and Ian, Pete for his advice & Ian for fixing the car at a very reasonable cost. And the tune is very impressive, I just scared the bejesus out of a D3 who thought he was going to whip round a 110 on the A46, it also seems to be getting 'stronger' each time I drive it. To anyone considering a BAS tune - do it. the car is so much more drive-able. As for the 'fault' with the MSV-2 I still do not know. I will invest in an old laptop that I can use solely for the MSV (any offers?) and remove all firewalls, and anything that might be c*cking things up, as I said all along on here and the BBS forum, there was a fault somewhere, either with me, the car or the MSV. I know now that the car is OK so that narrows it down some. The other thing for anybody else looking to play with this sort of stuff would be to live within walking distance of Brian, Ian or Pete! Once again thank you all & Brian, please keep posting, SWMBO would have divorced me by now without your help! Best regards Keith |
