I've just taken my first holiday from my business since Xmas and my clutch went last Monday, Land Rover would not allow Enterprise to supply a none Land Rover as a replacement vehicle, but I need 6 seats for my 4 kids and wife to all fit in. Land Rover took two days to allow Enterprise to supply me with a Ford Galaxy despite knowing I was on holiday with no way of going anywhere due to the lack of seats in the Chevrolet Starry they (Enterprise) had supplied me with "just to get me home".
Shuckers Shresbury have now had the vehicle for 10 days and have not even begun fixing it despite having the parts at Shuckers in Shrewsbury. Land Rover UK are more interested in using my circumstances to beat up Enterprise than they are at getting me sorted out with a realistic alternative to my '61 plate Defender 110 XS which has 8 seats. Shuckers are not at all interested in fixing the problem with any urgency, and they certainly didn't want to get involved with sorting me out with a replacement car. Land Rover and their dealer network need to wake up and smell the coffee, bad service, bad attitude to customers genuine concerns, bad problem resolution, bad clutch, bad bad bad. The only good thing about my truck is the residual value and that's because of us the consumers, nothing to do with Land Rover. This is meant to be a premium brand with premium service, that's why we pay a premium, based on experience to date, this is not what you get once you have made the mistake of buying one of their vehicles. The AA man who picked me up off the side of the road had done two other jobs that day, one Discovery, one Freelander and my Defender! Not happy!!!! |

Not good, you have my sympathies. There's a section for posting up your views on specific dealers, it ought to be mandatory reading for many of them. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Well an update on my very disappointing Defender, from a quality point of view!
I love the vehicle, tows well, travels ok on motorways, dogs (3) fit nicely in the rear and Mrs loves driving it. Since having this brand new, we had 3 years warranty from LR. The clutch broke, the drive shaft broke twice, the EGR valve broke 3 times, all of which were fixed under warranty. Due to these problems I negotiated with Shukers and they and LR bought me another years warranty. In that year the EGR valve broke again. This year I have bought warranty myself and 4 weeks ago the transmission box broke, very similar to drive shaft problem. My concern is the drive shaft, do you guys fell that there maybe something just not in line that is causing the problem? Seems odd to have these problems on a new vehicle? Would appreciate any thoughts/comments. Sorry, not here often and always moaning http://www.cheshireoakstructures.co.uk |
