From the first service the dealer said I had 11-12mm on my Continentals Looks like their tyre gauge is a tad out

Morning Zagato, any snow? Just checked my Conti CC's with a tread depth gauge 13mm all round. They've done about 900 miles so just about new. 2011 Defender 90 SW

To my mind 1.6mm is dangerously low still. seeing as a lot of people will leave there tyre's to get down to that which is hardly anything. I Know when I had the Grabbers with 7mm tread rather than 10 - 12mm there was a marked difference in traction when stopping. Came across a FWD car not being able to get up a snowy hill yesterday needless to say hardly any tyre tread. Which caused me to stop on said hill no room to get past and ended up sliding back

..... Was just looking at the ones for sale with 7mm on them and wondering what they start off with and what the minumum is. Sound to be 2/3 rds worn going by what is being said here! |
