Drive a TD5, you can get cold air blowing in the cabin on tick over and the needle on the guage right down PITA when you've just got it warm and then hit traffic

Thanks to Webasto no more cosy Defender, after pressing the remote this morning in combination with only short driving distances during last days the battery went on strike. Was one hour late for ice-scating with the kids after the clip of the jump lead broke in half due to the low temperatures. After that I was cursing when i had to remove the console of the scheelmanns to reach the battery for charging with my icecold hands.

I was a bit worried about Standheizung (aux.heating) for precisely this reason. I killed 2 batteries in one winter in our VW T3 Bus because the Eberspächer heating kept running them down (plus it needed a new glowplug or something every year). I also did a lot of short trips but I think it was a crappy design anyway (as was much of the earlier T3s). Hope you get it sorted. Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
