2024 Insurance for a TD5
I would be grateful for any recommendations for insurers.

I have a 2004 TD5 with no modifications and have used A Plan/Howdens for a number of years; I do fewer than £10k miles per year, the vehicle is garaged, and I live in a low-crime postcode.

I accepted an increase last year but this year's premium is coming in at more than twice on-line quotations via the Meerkats. I accept the benefits of the in-person service but twice the price is hard to swallow. I used Adrian F. in the past but did not like them [they cancelled my insurance when I moved 1 mile away and they said the risk was too high].

Any recommendations would be gratefully received!

I used to live in the UK. The insurance market in the UK is F.U. There is no such thing as loyalty in insurance world. After you weed out the BS quotes you need to look at the benefits and the cost and make a call on that.

Just renewed again with the NFU my local branch have always been very helpful and anytime i have had issues they have been flawless. I also like them as they dont charge you through the nose for any changes and you can speak to someone who you can understand and who understands you! 110 Td5 Ex Utilities slowly converting into a pop top camper one day

Try Adrian Flux, they have a speciaslist Land Rover dept and will also do agreed value. My premium with them on agreed value is cheaper than many other companies quote for market value.

Thank you for the recommendation with NFU; I have dropped them a line.

I am reluctant to use AF - they dropped me in it in the past when I moved house, called to tell them, and they cancelled my insurance with immediate effect - 'the risk is too high in this area', and I had moved less than 1 mile from previous address!

LV have been good to me in the past.
Might be worth a phone call?

If you own your own company I'd advise seeking fleet insurance. They take into account that you can only drive one vehicle at a time and there are no mileage caps, and usually anyone over the age of 30 (not necessarily employees) can drive any of your fleet insured.
'No way' would we have achieved the same premium costs if we'd insured each vehicle independantly as we have before.

A superb service from the NFU with a £400 saving on the quotation from elsewhere! This included a reduction in all the excesses [fromn £1k to £250], increase in usage, inclusion of other benefits.

Thank you for the recommendation, and I would encourage others to look at the NFU!
