Ford Escort RS2000
Ford Escort Mexico
Lotus Carlton
Vauxhall senator 3.0 24v ( used to have one )
Opel manta GTE
Ford Capri, of any type, not just the RS 3.1 which was pretty rare to start with.

Last month on the M11 I passed, a DMC DeLorean , first I have ever seen on the road ! On Saturday I followed 2 Early E type soft top jags on a country road, that was lovely to see and hear.

Sounds like you need to visit some local car shows tbh. Think I’ve seen almost all of those today including the DMC.

Ahh but if you look at the title topic it’s “cars you don’t see on the roads anymore “ , I see plenty of classic cars at shows, and my friends have many classics but as for seeing them when day to day driving, that’s a different story.

There is an Austin Maxi down the road from me, which is parked up out side, not been on the road for a few years now looking at it. As it was used a bit of a daily going to Nissan. Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Going by your 80s era, i did see a few weeks ago, A Mk1 Ford Orion on a A plate, i thought it was an RS series 1, when it came towards me. Then when it passed me, i was like bloody hell an Orion! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Oh goodness, so many have "gone on" to the other side.

I cannot remember the last time I saw a fiat Uno, Panda, Punto... Original Zuke Vitara. Or an Escort, Granada or Siera. The list is LONG... Around these parts I do not even remember the last time I saw a 200tdi Discovery, loads of weekend tourist TD5s being thrashed around the green lanes mind Rolling Eyes

Always wanted a go in a Sisley 4x4 Panada Rolling Eyes

Saw a very nice Renault 5 Turbo2 in Annecy (France) a few weeks ago ragging it off the lights, then 2 minutes later saw another just cruising down the lake road. Definitely not something you normally see out and about! Unfortunately I was driving so never got any pics Sad

That makes no sense at all. Since when was something like a Lotus Carlton a common site on the public roads? There were only something like 320 of them in the UK when new!

The DMC and RS2000 most certainly would never have been common sights either. Arguably due to the popularity of classic cars and car shows, you are probably far more likely to see one on the roads today if you pop out at the weekend than you ever would during their production years.

With a thread title of:

cars you don't see on the roads, anymore

Was something like a Honda Z600 Coupe ever a common site anywhere other than maybe at the factory where they built them?
