Have bought some black Raptor for my bonnet.
Did you find it easy to apply? ![]() Got any advice, such as psi or temp or anything else that might help? Cheers 🚜. ...... . .... . .. 🚗🚐🚛🚚🚚🚗🚙🚐 |

Hi Chris
The black is much easier to apply than the tinted. Rub down the area to be coated with 80s grade pads on an orbital sander. If you break through the old paint surface, you need to apply primer. The instructions say the ideal application temperature is 24 degree's,I did mine at between 24 & 28 deg.It was touch dry in about 1hr. I think it just takes longer to cure if it's cooler. Something I found, was if you miss any bits, you can touch up later with a brush stippling the coating on gives a similar effect to spraying. I sprayed @ 50 to 60psi.Any lower & she spatter is bigger/rougher. The best solvent to clean the gun etc is acetone, though I don't know how readily available it is in the UK? Though once cured, even acetone won't bring it off. ![]() Hope this helps. Marc |

Christ mate that looks fantastic! Honestly the first white Fender i really love! Damn good job!
Best part about Raptor ia if you managed to scuff or damage the paint its a quick rub down and a spray on! No blending or match required ![]() Acetone is easily available online btw, bought 2L off Amazon! Last edited by bankz5152 on 27th Sep 2017 8:40pm. Edited 1 time in total |
