Different spare wheel (same but new tyre)

I have a set of MACH 5 wheels fitted (unsure of width/offset) with 265/75/16s, I recently fitted a matching albeit new 265/75/16 to my spare. But in the absence of a matching wheel, I'm using a boost wheel which at the very least I know is a much different offset.

So in the instance of needing to use that spare with boost alongside the other mach 5's, is there any issue for the diff / drivetrain? (my thinking is no, given the matching tyre spec albeit with more tread. Hopefully to not need it...

)

The only purpose would be to get in a position for recovery or the nearest tyre shop. Also carrying the different wheel nuts required.

Willtheyfit.com will give you all the info you need, you will need the offset of the wheels though, should be stamped on them.

It’s not ideal, but a long as you’re prepared it’s not the end of the world, the tyre being the matching diameter is the more important factor.

I’d probably swap the wheels around so that the front axle had the same offset wheels and put the odd wheel on the back axle should the worst happen, it’d get you to a tyre shop or home.

Provided that the tyre size is the same there will be no mechanical issues whatsoever. It is possible that you will notice some effect on steering and braking if running the boost on the front axle due to the difference in scrub radius but I'd expect it to be marginal if even noticeable.

Might be worth your effort hitting Google up for a bit and learning about diffs and offset. Short answer is offset has nothing to do with your diff!!

Overall you will be no worse off than running a space saver tyre. In fact a lot better. And most modern cars have space savers these days….

Thank you all so much, greatly appreciated and glad that has answered it.

Did use willtheyfit prior and came up with no change on speed etc but thought to sense check.

I did previously have a 235 which showed only a minor speed change but alas seems that it's solved now.
