I have been gradually upgrading the mechanicals of mine over the last few years so I'm on top of that now. The XS seats are very nice, especially the premium option. The support is excellent and heating function is great.
Having said that the standard Td5 XS seats I find very comfortable and have done 600+ mile days in them no problem at all. The premium puma option is just another step up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Thank you bogwert
I do have cruise control, all Td5s have it from the factory you just have to run wires from wherever you put the switches to the ecu. Because I have a puma transfer box and taller 5th gear I had to put a speedo healer in between the speedo and ecu so it would work on the taller gearing. Overall cost with the speedo healer is probably around £100 Works flawlessly and I use it a lot 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Hi Grafty, I've recently fitted a recon box with a v8 5th gear ratio and it's killed my cruise control also. Which wires did you connect the speedo healer into? Did it actually adjust the speedo reading or just alter the pulses to the ECU which allow cruise control? Cracking Defender also mate |

Green Machine - there is no unit required as it is built into the Td5 ecu as a left over from the Td5 discovery I used carling switches for the cruise control. A simple "on-off" one for cruise isolation. And a "momentary-off-momentary" switch for set/accelerate and cancel/resume.
These were wired in using this diagram. The ecu pins are econoseal female pins. Click image to enlarge I have my carling switches to the right of the steering column where the 3 switches are on a Tdi. If you have standard gearing then the cruise will work with the simple wiring above. I had to add a speedo healer to mine as I have taller gearing which leads me onto Harry.O - yes any deviation from the standard gearing will stop the cruise control working in 5th gear as the ecu thinks the vehicle is traveling too fast relative to engine speed. This puts the cruise control out of parameters and it won't activate. To cure this, as mentioned, I fitted a speedo healer (from flatdog). The speedo healer interrupts the pulse sent from the speedo in the dash to the ecu. I put mine under the drivers seat next to the ecu. There is ignition live and earth under there which makes this location ideal. You remove pin 13 black plug (I did this and made an extension loom to avoid cutting) this is the signal wire. Then just setup the speedo healer to slow down the speed seen by the ecu. I reduced mine by 19% and it worked first time 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Just to note that by putting the speedo healer before the ecu but after the speedometer - the displayed speed remains unchanged - only the ecu speed is changed.
The defender is wired Speed transducer (transfer box) V Speedometer in dash binnacle (speed pulse doubled for ecu to read) V ECU receives pulse for cruise control etc 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

I've had man flu all week so to perk myself up I bought some aero wiper blades for my 90. They will replace the cheap wipac ones which have lasted around 2 months
