That's about it
![]() You may have a few issues if the mud flaps have already twisted the metal. Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

Yeah it's worth it, my last defender never had the problem for the 4 years I owned it but my puma didn't last 12 months

Clean all mud off area first. Otherwise you are likely to be removing it from eyes, nose, mouth as you drill the bottom of panel/fit them.

Any reason rear mudflapd can not be fitted at the very rear hanging from the chassis? NO matter how many reinforcement you add, the OE assembly will twist anyway. Puma 110" SW

I think you would have to fabricate quite an involved strong framework to hang the mudflap bracket on if the rear quarter panel didn't come into use! Unfortunately the panel is the only really practical point in which to attach the bracket to.
As far as I see it the twisting is from front to back as the mudflap is wagged back and forth particularly with motorway driving. What a 2" say homemade or Entreg bracket does is prevent that force twisting the metal off as it overlaps the lip from front to back.. If the force was in the other direction i.e. sideways then yes the bracket wouldn't work but it isn't. I didin't even bother drilling the other two holes as they are not necessary if you still have your original hole intact, the force isn't that way, less holes the better ![]() ![]() |

i guess the other option is to use less stiff material for the mud flaps

Zagato, interesting comments about not drilling the other two holes. I just ordered the reinforcements from Entreq and as everything is still fully intact with me, I will try to go that way. Thanks

Nice point there!! Are you aware of any less stiff mudflap product that we could use to avoid this problem? Mike. |

For years people have been cutting mud flaps out of conveyor belt rubber which can be got in various thicknesses. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
